Artists over the age of 16 from mid Wales and the borders are invited to submit original works of art to the 2023 Hafren Open Art Competition. Kindly sponsored by Makefast Ltd for the first prize of £300.

Notes for Artists / Terms & Conditions:
Artists are invited to submit a maximum of two works in any medium. Three-dimensional work cannot be accepted unless they can be wall mounted. Maximum size (inc frame) 80cm x 80cm.
Selection:
Due to space restrictions display may not be guaranteed, however, we endeavour to display works of art by as many artists as possible. Entries are accepted at the discretion of the organisers.
Judging:
Judging will take place on Thursday 30th November and all the prizes will be awarded at the private view on Friday 1st December 2023. All entrants and their friends are warmly invited to the public view. The judge's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into under any circumstances.
People's Choice:
Voting will be open from Monday 4th December until Friday 19th January 2024 inclusive. One vote per person permitted and duplicates will be discounted. The winner will be notified on Monday 22nd January 2024 and announced on Hafren social media and website.
Deliver & Collection:
Works must be delivered to Hafren Box Office (please see opening hours) between Monday 20th November and Wednesday 22nd November 2023 (this is a condition of entry, and no works will be accepted after this date). For security reasons please use mirror plated on all works, not hanging wire or string (works without mirror plates cannot be accepted). All works hung and not sold must be collected week commencing 29th January 2024. Artists of any works not hung will be notified.
Identification:
Works must be clearly labelled front and back with names, title, medium and selling price (see below) with a sticky label on the back and a luggage label on the front.
Registration:
There is a small handling fee of £8 per accepted work.
Insurance:
All works will be covered by our gallery insurance whilst in our care.
Sale & Commission:
All works submitted must be available for sale (special exceptions possible). Hafren will take a commission of 25% + VAT. If works are bought by credit/debit card there will be a small bank fee on 2.5% +VAT.

Hafren Gallery
The gallery is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm and on Saturdays two hours before a performance on performance days only.
Admission is free. Opening times during the day may very occasionally be curtailed; please call the box office if you wish to ensure the gallery will be open for your visit. Exhibition openings are open to all and offer an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their work with them. Complimentary coffee is available during opening sessions.
