Lighthouse Theatre returns this winter with a live radio play version of the perennial Dickens’ classic tale, A Christmas Carol – a play to delight the young and old alike full of festive feeling, ghostly encounters, hardship and redemption.

The Hound Of The Baskervilles
7th Mar 2024 7:30PM

Live on stage and in person, renowned stars of stage & screen COLIN BAKER (Doctor Who, The Brothers) and TERRY MOLLOY (Mike Tucker in The Archers for 40 years) are joining forces this spring to play the world’s most famous detectives, SHERLOCK HOLMES & DOCTOR WATSON.
Alongside DEE SADLER (All Creatures Great & Small, No Place Like Home), they star in a brand new stage adaptation of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES - originally on tour to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most popular thriller and now extended by popular demand!
The legend of the Hound Of The Baskervilles has haunted the Baskerville family for generations - none more so than Sir Charles Baskerville, who died in mysterious circumstances worthy of the legend. This leads Doctor Mortimer to consult Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, in the hope of preventing the heir to the Baskerville estate, Sir Henry, from suffering the same fate. But the supernatural seems a very long way from 221B Baker Street…
However, once Holmes & Watson journey to isolated Baskerville Hall, the line between reality and the legend becomes blurred. Death, doom and myth surround them - what is the secret of the butler in the night, whose is the mysterious lantern that shines in the darkness, and what hellish apparition stalks Dartmoor with murderous intent?
Presented by Crime And Comedy Theatre Company as a radio-play-live-on-stage - our setting is a radio studio, our actors ready as if for a radio broadcast, and our sound effects created live on stage, all combining to transport the audience from Baker Street to Dartmoor, as we bring to life this tale of murder, mystery and horror that’s surely the greatest detective story ever told! A rare chance to see these popular actors live at your local theatre, this is a play not to be missed.
“5-stars! Colin Baker was born to be Sherlock Holmes, Terry Molloy is my favourite Dr Watson to date. A phenomenal evening at the theatre, I can’t recommend this play enough!”

When the young geisha, Cio-Cio-San, marries American Naval Officer Pinkerton, she believes she is entering a real, binding marriage for life. Forsaking her religion and community, she learns all too late that for Pinkerton, their marriage is merely an illusion - with tragic consequences.
With a score that includes Butterfly’s aria, 'Un bel dì, vedremo' (‘One fine day’) and the Humming Chorus, Giacomo Puccini’s opera is entrancing and ultimately heart-breaking. Steve Harley - Come Up And See Me…
16th Oct 2024 7:30PM

Steve Harley
Come Up And See Me… And Other Stories
A prodigious kid who grew up on the poetry of Eliot and Lawrence, the prose of Steinbeck, Woolf, and Hemingway, and the music of Bob Dylan, Steve Harley soon realised his life would be preoccupied with words and music. He met The Rolling Stones as a kid, and the die was cast.
After working as a newspaper reporter, he switched to rock’n’roll, enjoying huge success with Cockney Rebel and such hits as Sebastian and the iconic Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me). Acting off-Broadway and in London, he recorded the title track of The Phantom Of The Opera with Sarah Brightman, while also finding time to write for Rod Stewart, among others, before playing Glastonbury Festival three times, the Isle of Wight festival and receiving numerous awards.
And now, it’s time to reflect. Come Up And See Me… And Other Stories, will feature music and stories, as Steve tells stories about his career, while playing acoustic versions of the biggest hits.
Steve will be accompanied by long-standing band member Barry Wickens.
VIP Tickets include front row seats, goody bag and pre-show meet and greet.
