A sensory experience for babies and toddlers
Join Persephone and her animal friends as they guide you and your babies through the changes in nature, collecting things on their way…
Hear a robin chirp a merry tune, as it gets colder and the days draw in. Will you be able to catch a snowflake? Hop through the meadow with a bunny, watching the flowers bloom. Will there be an April shower? Perhaps you can catch the bubbles from the bubbling brook? Listen to the waves of the ocean and fly through the summer with a colourful butterfly, feeling the heat of the sun on your face. Can you catch a sunbeam? See the leaves change colour and fall to the ground as a hedgehog snuffles through the undergrowth. Perhaps you can catch the wind?
Persephone is a gentle sensory exploration of the seasons, perfect for babies and toddlers.

Ligeti’s Chamber Concerto & New Music From Wales
14eg Maw 2025 7:30PM

Pre-show Talk 6.30pm FREE admission
UPROAR’s ensemble of 16 virtuoso soloists continues to push the boundaries of new classical music from Wales.
This is a vibrant 90-minute programme where you get to hear the most exciting voices in new classical music in Wales, alongside work by well-known international composers, whose music is rarely performed here.
The Chamber Concerto by Ligeti (whose music is well known from the films 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining) gets its Welsh Premiere, as does Hrím by Anna Thorvaldsdottir, a potent evocation of elemental power specially created to accompany the Chamber Concerto.
For our new Welsh commissions, Litang Shao explores the sounds, energies and emotions evoked by the unpredictable nature of the sea, incorporating the musical elements and flavour of traditional Chinese music. RWCMD graduate Ashley John Long captures the echoes and whispers of the rolling hillsides of the Welsh landscape. And in contrast, David John Roche takes inspiration from the heavy metal and rock scene in the Welsh Valleys as he was growing up.
Touch Tour
This year we are offering Touch Tours for those with sight loss at all our performances of Ligeti’s Chamber Concerto & New Music From Wales. This is a chance for those with sight loss to hear some of the sounds before the show, and talk to some of our ensemble members about the performance. This usually takes place 90 minutes before the performance and lasts up to 30 minutes. There is also pre-show talk with the composers at each venue 1 hr before each performance.
If you would like to find out more about the touch tour and access at each venue, you can contact the venues below or contact us on info@uproar.org.uk | 07885977044

Exhibition On Screen: The Dawn Of Impressionism
18fed Maw 2025 7:00PM

The Dawn of Impressionism: Paris, 1874
Directed by Ali Ray - Produced by Phil Grabsky
The Impressionists are the most popular group in art history - millions flock every year to marvel at their masterpieces. But, to begin with, they were scorned, penniless outsiders. 1874 was the year that changed everything; the first Impressionists, “hungry for independence”, broke the mould by holding their own exhibition outside official channels. Impressionism was born and the art world was changed forever.
What led to that first groundbreaking show 150 years ago? Who were the maverick personalities that wielded their brushes in such a radical and provocative way? The spectacular Musée d’Orsay exhibition brings fresh eyes to this extraordinary tale of passion and rebellion. The story is told not by historians and curators but in the words of those who witnessed the dawn of Impressionism: the artists, press and people of Paris, 1874. See the show that changed everything on the big screen.
Made in close collaboration with the Musee d’Orsay and National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.

Walter Goodfellow (Rowan Atkinson), the well meaning vicar of the parish of Little Wallop, is so obsessed with writing the perfect sermon that he is oblivious to his wife Gloria's (Kristin Scott Thomas) dalliance with her brash golf instructor Lance (Patrick Swayze); neither does he notice that his daughter Holly has a different boyfriend every week, and his young son Petey is the whipping boy for the school bullies.
Gloria feels her life is spiralling out of control. She is sick of the incessant barking of the dog next door, her loveless marriage and her adolescent kids escapades. She prays every night for salvation. Enter Grace (Maggie Smith), the answer to the family's prayers: a sweet grey haired old lady, the charming and discreet new housekeeper, who has her own unique definition of keeping house and a very unusual way of solving problems.

Michelangelo - Love & Death
Directed by David Bickerstaff - Produced by Phil Grabsky
The spectacular sculptures and paintings of Michelangelo seem so familiar to us, but what do we really know about this Renaissance giant? Michelangelo’s genius is evident in everything he touched. Beautiful and diverse works such as the towering statue of David, the moving Pietà in the Papal Basilica of St. Peter and his tour-de-force, the Sistine Chapel ceiling, still leave us breathless today.
Spanning his 88 years, Michelangelo - Love and Death takes a cinematic journey through the print and drawing rooms of Europe through the great chapels and museums of Florence, Rome and the Vatican to seek out a deeper understanding of this legendary figure’s tempestuous life, his relationship with his contemporaries and his incredible legacy.
Through expert commentary, stunning visuals and Michelangelo’s own words, this film takes a fresh look at a master artist whose life and genius are celebrated in every mark he made. Returning to cinemas in 2025 to celebrate this iconic artist’s 550th birthday.
Sculptor, painter, architect, poet, genius - discover why Michelangelo is without a doubt one of the greatest artists of all time.
